Tosca Weijers is a linguist with a degree in English Language and Literature and 'hippo loads' of experience in the fields of translation (English and German into Dutch), editing and coordination, accumulated as an employee of translation agencies and a publishing house.
Until the call of independence became too strong, and she joined forces with her partner to start their own company. She is now devoting her knowledge and experience as a translator, editor and coordinator to Hipproductions, which has given her the freedom she craved for many years. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, and creating home videos from footage she shoots herself. Unfortunately she's never had a hippo in front of her lens.
Gerko van der Graaf is a freelance journalist, translator of texts from German and English into Dutch and a writer. After a ten-year career in the civil service as an organisation advisor, policymaker and writer of clear policy plans, he abandoned his hope to remodel society, and decided that he would be of more value to society if he did his own thing. He has been his own boss since 2004, with no staff (but with a partner and many hippos to support him). He is a freelance writer and photographer for various magazines, including Mountain Bike Plus, which enables him to combine hobby and work in an ideal manner. He also does a lot of translation work, primarily of brochures, folders and technical manuals for a large number of international companies and institutions in the bicycle industry and tourism sector. His biggest hobby? Hippos!
