BIG MOUTH? JUDGE FOR YOURSELF
Hippopotamus, which literally means 'river horse'. They come in many different types, sizes and even colours. It can be found in Central and Southern Africa, and is characterised by a large mouth, thick skin and short legs. A total cutie to look at, in other words. But appearances can be deceptive. Provoke one at your peril! There are more human victims of hippos than there are of lions or the malaria mosquito. They spend most of their time in the water, and can stay immersed for up to five minutes. On land, they have a built-in sun oil to protect them from sunburn. But despite all this ingenuity, they are threatened with extinction, and that is one of the reasons why we support the WWF financially, in the context of corporate social responsibility. We think hippos are rugged, and we are concerned about their future. However, any similarity in physical appearance and character between hippos and the team at Hipproductions is pure coincidence.
